Drive Coupling for Bosch Universal Blender

This Bosch Universal Drive Coupling is a part found in old inventory that  was designed for the Bosch UM3 Kitchen Machine.  The drive coupling fits on the bottom of the blender and is the same size and fit as the new drive couplings with a slightly larger outside diameter.  This coupling is made of hardened rubber instead of plastic. It certainly would fit on the blender or food processor for the high speed drive of an old UM3, MUM6 or MUM 7 Bosch kitchen machine.  It is a tight enough fit on the Universal Plus high speed drive that I would not recommend it on the current Bosch Universal Plus Complete Blender.  

The drive coupling occasionally needs replacing if it wears out with use at high speed for long intervals or has not been well seated during operation. The corners in the drive piece may become worn or rounded, allowing slipping of the high speed drive in the pocket of the drive piece, stripping smooth the coupling connections.

To easily replace, the worn drive piece is firmly gripped by the blades of the blender using a kitchen towel with the nondominant hand and simultaneously firmly grasping the plastic edges of the drive piece and twisting the drive piece counterclockwise. It is may be sticky to come loose and may require a gripping tool on the plastic piece. (It was designed to tighten in the direction used by the high speed drive when it is operated.) After removal the replacement piece is twisted firmly into place, threaded clockwise to hand tightness.

This drive coupling is also used in the Universal Food Processor.
